As humans, we must begin to understand that we are not solely the negative circumstances that we find ourselves in. These circumstances are in many instances far out of our control. Generations of trauma, inequalities and discrimination has meant that the odds seem stacked against us. I am here to tell you there is hope. We are not our circumstances, however we are the fight and the determination that it takes to transcend them.
